Introduction To Weight Loss:

Recent studies have shown that more than half of the U.S. population is overweight, but it’s important to understand the difference between overweight and obese. Obesity is classified as an individual who is 20% (25% in women) or more over the maximum desirable weight for their height. While a healthy diet and routine exercise are vital to maintaining one’s weight, some individuals require a little bit of assistance. At Laser Legacy Medispa, our team strives to produce the best health and lifestyle results for our patients with non-surgical Weight Loss treatments in the ID area. Our program is designed and supervised by our experienced medical staff who are committed to guiding you toward a healthier lifestyle through customized consultations and health evaluations, catered specifically to your needs.

What Are Weight Loss Treatments?

Weight Loss Treatments are non-surgical options to fight obesity. Whether it be supplements or weekly injection, Laser Legacy Medispa offers several options for weight loss treatments for our patients, which we have explained in further detail below. After coming in for your consultation, our team will do their best to help you decide which one is best for you.

With our medical weight loss program, you can expect to see significant improvements in your overall health, including reduced risk of chronic diseases, improved mobility, and increased energy levels. Below, we have listed the types of weight loss options that we provide:

GLP-1 Medications

In certain cases, our weight loss program may include the use of GLP-1 medications. GLP-1 medications are prescription drugs that assist in weight loss by regulating appetite and reducing food cravings. They work by mimicking the effects of a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) that is naturally produced in the body. These medications have shown promising results in aiding weight loss.

Vitamin Injections

Our injectable medications work by decreasing insulin resistance, reducing hunger, increasing feelings of fullness & encouraging the release of fat storage. This leads to reduced food intake and weight loss.

For our Vitamin injections, we offer Lipo Mino+ and B12 to help boost your metabolism, increase energy levels, and improve your overall health. Moreover, our metabolic boosters are specifically designed to enhance your body’s fat-burning capacity, leading to rapid and sustained weight loss.

Additional Components Of Our Program

In addition to GLP-1 medications, our weight loss program incorporates other components to enhance your journey. These may include detoxification regimens, nutritional protein supplementation, metabolic boosters, and injectable vitamin therapy. Our medical staff will tailor these aspects to suit your unique needs and goals.

Introduction To Hormone Replacement:

At our boutique practice in Blackfoot ID, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is an increasingly popular service to improve hormone levels that have either declined or fluctuated due to age or body chemistry. BHRTs help the body regulate and balance itself naturally to return to its regulated state.

What Is Hormone Replacement?

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is comprehensive. Hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, triiodothyronine, and thyroxine are essential in maintaining optimal health. BHRT is used to treat both men and women when their hormone levels drop or become unbalanced during menopause, andropause, general aging, or disease-related conditions. Bioidentical hormones are derived from plant-based ingredients, carrying fewer risks than synthetic options. Estrogen and testosterone are among those most commonly replicated and used in treatment.

Hormone Replacement For Women

Testosterone therapy can be beneficial for women as they age. Women experience many of the same benefits from testosterone as men do. BHRT offers the body a natural testosterone boost, which can help prevent breast cancer, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s, and other forms of dementia.

Most often, perimenopausal and menopausal women struggle with sleep patterns, mood changes, or swings, including anxiety and depression, hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain, loss of lean muscle tone, and loss of interest in sex or painful intercourse. BHRT using either testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, or a combination can help regulate your sleep, give you more energy, stabilize your mood, increase muscle tone, and increase libido.

Hormone Replacement For Men

BHRT using testosterone therapy can improve general health and overall quality of life. Specifically for men, an adequate testosterone level is crucial to energy, focus, lean muscle mass, and libido. As women go through menopause, the male counterpart can go through andropause. Andropause may be experienced by middle-aged and older men, who experience gradually decreasing testosterone levels. The decrease may cause fatigue, reduced libido, muscle loss, weight gain, sleep issues, mood swings, irritability, and depression. Our nurse looks at testosterone levels and additional ways to help improve sexual problems and your overall quality of life.

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is an elevated concern for men as they age. Increasing testosterone levels can help treat symptoms of ED and work towards improving libido. With consistent therapy over time, testosterone can improve cholesterol levels, leading to improved cardiovascular health and blood flow to help improve ED. It also assists with some complications associated with diabetes that deal with the rigidity of the penis during arousal.

What Are The Benefits Of Hormone Replacement?

It’s most frequently used to ease perimenopause, menopause, and andropause symptoms. It may also improve cancer treatment symptoms or treat conditions such as insulin resistance, adrenal and thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, and fibromyalgia.

Aging affects all of us differently; therefore, BHRT is a customizable treatment that addresses individuals’ needs based on laboratory results and symptoms patients may be experiencing. Optimizing your hormones can improve diminished sex drive, weight management challenges, brain fog, and difficulty with sleeping and energy.

Who Are The Best Candidates For Hormone Replacement Procedure?

If you are experiencing symptoms that are interfering with your daily life and quality of life, BHRT may be ideal for you. Our Dr. Dixon can determine whether you’re a good candidate for hormone optimization during your consultation.

You may be a good candidate for BHRT if you meet any of the following criteria:

  • Perimenopausal, menopausal, or andropause symptoms as described above
  • A family history of breast or prostate cancer, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s, or cardiovascular disease (since hormone replacement therapy helps reduce the risks of these conditions)
  • Menopause before age 40 or surgical menopause by removing your ovaries by age 45. Menopause before age 45 as the result of chemotherapy
  • No satisfactory relief from other recommended treatments and lifestyle strategies

What’s The First Step?

The first step is to book a consultation by calling or scheduling with the link below. We’ll schedule a time for you to meet with Dr. Dixon and our nurse. You’ll be able to express your goals for the therapy, ask questions, and listen to our expert’s recommendations. Please be ready to share your medical history. Together, you and our team will develop the best options for your holistic health. Laboratory results from a blood draw are required to determine if you are a candidate for BHRT before pellet insertion. Typically that is done before the consultation. Other things we look at for holistic health include vitamin B12 and vitamin D levels.

What To Expect On The Day Of Hormone Replacement Therapy

Candidates for hormone replacement therapy will receive a packet of detailed information and instructions to help them feel prepared, confident, and comfortable with the treatment. It will also include instructions on caring for yourself during the short recovery. The pellet insertion is done with a local anesthetic for comfort in the office. On the day of the treatment, we will talk you through the procedure as we numb you and make a small incision on a concealed body area (hip or buttocks). After the custom dose of bioidentical hormone pellets is inserted, the incision is closed with sterile strips, and a small bandage is placed over it.

Hormone Replacement Recovery

Recovery for BHRT pellet therapy is very generally short. Most patients can return to normal daily activities immediately following the procedure. You may experience tenderness, slight redness, minimal swelling, and bruising at the treatment site that subsides over a few days. Lightly icing the area in 20-minute intervals during the first 24 hours helps minimize bruising and discomfort. Once inserted, your body will absorb the hormones naturally and gradually.

How Much Does Hormone Replacement Cost?

The cost of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement  can vary on a number of factors. The best way to find out how much your BHRT will cost is to schedule a consultation with our medical staff. They will be able to assess your needs, create a personal timeline based on those needs, and give you an accurate cost for your therapy.

Hormone Replacement FAQ’s

  • Is Hormone Replacement painful?
On average, patients tend to find the implantation process painless. However, depending on how your body reacts to the procedure, you can experience bruising, swelling, soreness, or redness at the incision site. There is also a small risk of infection any time an incision is made. Major complications from hormone pellet insertion are exceedingly rare.
  • How many appointments will I need?
It depends on how your body reacts to the BHRT treatment, but the average patient will require a new pellet insertion every four to six months to maintain their hormone levels.
  • How long until I see results?
The pellets do take some time to be absorbed by your body, so the average patient will typically feel some change in their symptoms after two or three weeks, with the results becoming stronger over time.
  • What are the risks associated with Hormone Replacement?
Taking BHRT does carry some risks. For certain patients, hormone therapy can potentially increase their chances of getting:
    • Acne
    • Blood clots
    • Breast cancer
    • Depression
    • Gallbladder disease
    • Heart attacks
    • Increased facial hair
    • Strokes
    • Sudden mood changes
    • Weight Gain
  • Certain types of BHRT have a higher risk, and each patient’s risks can vary, depending on her medical history and lifestyle. If you do decide to take BHRT, it should be the lowest dose that helps and for the shortest time needed. You should check if you still need to take BHRT every 3-6 months.
  • Can I combine Hormone Replacement with other procedures?
If you have any other areas of your body that you would like to improve or augment to meet your desired appearance, our Providers can help you find the right treatment for you. You may be interested in combining Iv Drip Therapy, Vitamin Injections or even Body Contouring with your therapy to achieve a look that matches your internal desires.
No matter what you are looking to achieve, our certified and trained team members look forward to speaking with you and creating a plan!
